First time at 2000 yards

I was just talking about that place I want to make a trip out there to shoot. It's about 3 hours and 20 min away from me but think it would be a blast for a day
Matt who runs it is very accommodating. He will meet you and take you to range and spot for you if available.

here is another one for the ELR Mtn Dreamers (like me)

West Pine Creek, off the Yellowstone in Paradise Valley MT. Elk season 2 years ago.
Wind had plastered snow on the down slope face of all the trees.
Mtn in background is 2000 to 4000 yds. However, good luck hitting anything with a bullet in all that wind....

On the computer all day today so if any of you out west want to gloat with more gorgeous mountain shooting locations feel free to harass! Darn I miss me some mountains

Wow beauty. This is funny I have always wondered this.....fog vs clouds. Is fog just ground clouds? Can't recall ever asking, but certainly never read it. Today is the day!

i loving these pics way more than the jabbering on the phone....thanks man

Few from my roll

i never made it past Mississippi river... Afraid if i come out there i'll want to stay... groups wanting to go to Kansas in the spring to get 2 miles.. not sure if im going to make it are not ??? .. if you make it out some time give me a shout we'll let you shoot a day or 2..

I'd post pics of unlimited range spots we have here in Kansas but Tempest455 already did it with those rebelridge pics.
Yup, whole state, just like that.
Easy to find a place to shoot 3000+ yards......hard to find a place with a backstop/hill/small mound of dirt....you get the idea.

That would be a blast. What do you guys shoot out there caliber wise?

408 & 375 chevtac, 300prc, 33xc, 338 edge .. one of group has 416 hellfire in the works..
Bigger boomers than I shoot. That's awesome though. Here in Colorado elevation helps getting farther out there with smaller cals.

got busy yesterday and didn't check in here dang! you guys are killing me! flat out gorgeous....well not flat, but wow!

For 2 miles if Kansas isn't your flavor take a peek at Tradecraft down here in FL. Buddy got a 2nd round hit at their 2 mile a couple of months ago with his 338. Would post the vid if I could, but I'm a tech dummy. Keeps you in the same time zone at least.....

Went back out this morning for 2000 yards same rock. 32 temp but feel like was 22. The wind was 22 plus mph coming from west.
My holds were 19.8 mils up
6.5 mils to left. I dialed 5 mils on turret and held 1.5 in scope.

First set 4-13 3rd round impact. New brass

Second set 0-13 1xfired brass had issues with my velocities. The wind started doing crazy things held 18.8

Third set 6-16 back to new brass holds were back to normal

Fourth set 0-10 new brass but wind was very harsh swirling and ended up dialing down 19.2

That's fun 6.5mils wind hold! What caliber? 2000 with under 20 mils just wondering. Was going back and forth at 1 mile spotting with buddy yesterday my 6.5 and his 300NM he was 21.5.

I'm shooting a 7mm-300 win mag 197 smk. I use. 405 g7 2877 avg. I did have it up at 2943 and it was only 18 mils. 28 inch barrel. I do live at 5400 feet so that helps

How far can you shoot out there?

The place in that photo is 1 mile x 1 mile section. There's some land by the KS/OK line that you could get 1.5 miles, probably further.

I'm in the Canon city area. What town you by?

sounds like a heck of a great day

Nice. I've been meeting a lot of people on here from Colorado lately who shoot long range

There's a lot of places do it, it's just finding the ppl who own the land or ppl who know them to be able to do it. It can be difficult.

Lucky I have the actual range that I love 3 min from if that. But I'm on the hunt for places that I can go farther than 2000.

Foothills of NC… private place .. blindfold you in & out … we do take a few guest on occasion

Exactly what brought about my avatar pic a friend made for me

1000 yards is for rookies
Unless you are shooting as many X's as possible out of 20 shots for score. :)
The Palma guys do it with iron sights and a sling as well.
