I just picked up a Defiant 550 lumen light at Home Depot for $19.88. Comes with 3 C batteries. I went back and bought two more for Christmas gifts. I do plan to pick up more for myself if they get more in. You would be hard pressed to find a better light for the money.

Just a heads up. You'll thank me later. Kinda like a Lay's tater chip, you can't buy just one

Re: Flashlight Awesomeness

Saw that on another forum. Seems like a lot of light for $20! The pictures I saw of the beam were not 550 lumens, but I'd say it puts out 200 lumens easy. If the nearest Home Depot weren't a tank of fuel away, I'd pick one up.

Re: Flashlight Awesomeness

I'm in. I've spend way too much on the "sale" headlamps and flashlights up front at Home Depot. My go to headlamp for hiking into hunting spots was a HD cheapo that worked great for years.

My daughters/wife all have good flashlights in their cars, purses, night stand. They aren't surefire but they are affordable.

Thanks for the notice

I have several high end lights that are 400 to 600 lumens and this light blows them away. Who knows the actual output on any light, but it is one bright SOB!

I go through Florala all the time. If you want one I'll pick one up for you. I should be through there next week. Just get me a product number.

In fact I may be through there Thursday or Friday

Re: Flashlight Awesomeness

Thanks very much for the offer Mike! I have more flashlights than I can keep up with, so I wouldn't want to put anyone out for another light that I don't really need. If you just so happen to pick up an extra and happen to be headed to Florala with it, let me know and I'll try to take it off your hands! I must warn you that the odds of me being in town when you come through are slim at best.

One certainty that I've discovered in my flashlight addiction is that advertised lumens don't mean dick and the term "high end" is extremely flexible. A buddy of mine just bought a 3800 lumen light for $40. It ain't....
