any local box stores sell foam for a pelican case....... I want to get multiple pieces of foam so that i can change them out for diffrent weapons.... The foam I found on line.... is like 60 dollars....... this is foam right

ah, but it's <span style="font-style: italic"><span style="font-weight: bold">special</span></span> foam.

Seriously though, it is definitely a different foam and IIRC it is called hard-cell or something like that.

I'm sure there are other foamologists here who'll clear this up, right quick. Also, there was once a member here who sold just that, for just that reason too. What his name is/was, and if he's still a member, I can't remember.

Closed cell is what you would want to not hold moisture and pelican is starting to offer it in there case...Open cell foam will suck up moisture esp if you let it get rained on...Our unit got some snap-on CTKs in pelicans with laser cut open cell foam and it rusted everything in those cases but we didnt have time to baby to stuff... if it had been closed cell we could have just wiped the water off but it does not have the same amount of cushion open cell does...Just something to think about

Thanks for all the help....... Thank you for your service...... could I put alot of descant packs in the bottom and top or would that not work.... I get them free from work

Yeah that would do the trick but if you get rained on take it all out and air it out and recharge your desiccant if not rust will start forming practically over night...Hey no problem. It was a blast

If you have a Joanne Fabric in your town, they carry all different kind of foam. For everything from chair cushoins to memory foam.
