Have a couple of trips lining up that will put me out of range for 3-7 days and need to get a portable/very reliable means of charging cell phones/other devices for our small crew. They’ll be turned off most times but used for nav, weather, emergency, etc and want a contingency plan, even if never utilized. Several I’ve seen reviewed were good, but could just as well crap out after 3-4 uses. Any direct experience to relate greatly appreciated.

The one I have is much older and not made anymore. I only use it backpacking though. If you have a vehicle (sounds like you will if you have a crew) you can get a power inverter pretty cheap that plugs into the cigarette lighter of your vehicle. I use mine camping/hunting. You can splurge and get a higher wattage one and keep it for disaster preparedness as well. The better ones come with a 2nd cable to clip them on to any car battery. My old Willys was designed to run on gas as low as 68 octane- its my emergency generator....

Weighs about a pound and will charge your phone 6 or more times. They make them larger and much smaller.
