For Those Who Have Tikkas in McMillan Stocks

I just ordered an A-5 (my first McMillan) for my T3 project, today. So, the waiting game begins. In the meantime, I would love to hear from those of you who have Tikkas in McMillan stocks. Your impressions, advice and, especially, pictures would be greatly appreciated.

I ordered the pillars, but am likely going to bed it, anyway. So, if anybody has any insight or advice in that department, I would like to hear that, too. Also, your impressions on the recoil lug are welcomed, as well.

You can see a couple of mine in the Tikka picture thread. I don't have a problem with the factory lug.

That said, I have tweaked the lug arrangement a bit.

My McMillans have been inletted perfectly, and the lug is in there better and tighter than factory stocks. I don't know what you are trying to accomplish with your build, but I much prefer an A3 to an A5.

Thanks, 284fan. I'll check out that thread.

This will be mostly a static/prone rifle, so I went with the A-5. I have a Stockade PD/T on another rifle and I've grown to like the layout. The base for this project is one of the new 24" Sporters in 6.5x55. It will be mostly a target (fun, not competition) and plinking rifle for long range, but may take the occasional extended range poke at a coyote, too.
