When out shooting with the can, do you have to have the original form 4 with you, or would a notarized copy suffice? How about notarized copy that has been reduced by half and laminated?

I just carry a color copy with me, full size and folded up and tucked away. I don't think a notary is needed.
Half sized and laminated would be hard to read and hard to fold up.

just a copy is fine.no need to notarize.keep the original in a safe fireproof place( safety depoist box,firesafe,etc)

Yep. I have only been <span style="font-style: italic">questioned</span> about mine once at the range and an explanation of the law and a copy of my form 4 was all that was required. It's sort of funny.... here, the younger cops that I go shooting with all know the NFA laws ( 'cause most of 'em have at least one or two NFA items themselves) but the older ones don't. Odd.

In addition to a half size laminated in the glove box, I have a really shrunken one laminated , the size of my driver's license. You can read the serial # and other pertinent info. It's in my wallet. Only the one can, so far.
