Howdy all. Ill put my flame suit on now just in case.

The pads that alot of guys have on the front underside of their stocks for resting on walls etc..... Usually held on with either velcro or some sort of straps.

What are they called and where do you get them?

Ive tried about 47.3 different word combinaions to try locate them on google or even on here. I've seen them in pics, from competitions mainly.

Can someone enlighten me?

Re: Front stock pad name.

Special Operation Technologies (S.O. Tech) Sniper Skid plate.

The A-5 model fits the MCM A-5 and the AICS.
The A-3 Model fits the MCM A-3.

The difference is the size of the pad.

S.O. Tech usually makes them to order, but Brownells keeps the Black ones in stock.

They are also great for guys who hunt from stands. I used mine this year for deer season as I was shooting from a stand that had windows with aluminum frames. The frames are really hard on the stocks and the skid plate allows for a nice pad between the frame and stock.

30 bucks.

Thats exactly what Im looking for.

Thanks for that. And I never looked for the words "skid plate", but I guess it makes sense.

Cheers.

Classic!

Re: Front stock pad name.

Yes, they use Velcro. The loop side has adhesive on it and sticks to the stock. The hook side is sewn onto the skid plate.

I'm not sure if you need the A3 or A5. I'm sure it will depend on what HSP stock you are putting it on. Some have a wider forearm than others.

Re the adhesive, you could go to Home Depot and get the industrial adhesive velcro, works great. So you could also swap it between weapons.
