Yep, the Argentinian commie Pope himself

Pope Saint John Paul II must be besides himself that the very liberal doctrines and the very communism he opposed in life are now being spread by this bolchevique argentino.

Italy is fubar as we know it,it's .just a matter of time.
Let's not go a save them again..let them go to hell this time.

I would say I don't recognize the Pope representing the Catholic faith.

    As @Expert684 said:
I quit going to church (Catholic) 40 years ago. Can't quite figure out what the church has morphed into? I keep God in my heart and what I do. I hoped to be judged on that! I think the church is another swamp in it's own right.

    Preach it brother!!

Never understood the difference in the denominations until college philosophy class.

Was raised a Catholic, attended Protestant services at PI because singing "I am the Lord of the Infantry" in full scream was pretty cool.

But in the college class when the crux of the issue was Catholics believe you need a certain education to understand the Bible so therefore lay people need Priests and Gods personal rep on earth, the Pope, to interpret the teachings of the Bible for them....

    whereas.....

The Protestants believe you can read the book and God has given you the sense to understand it for yourself....

    At that point I learned.....

    Im a Protestant.

“[A]s if measures that governments must impose for the good of their people constitute some kind of political assault on autonomy or personal freedom!”

Forcing people to stay indoors under pain of arrest is exactly what that is.

Pretty mild as far as liberation theology goes. Catholics still don't know how to reckon with that as a whole and lots of Protestant theology is so baked into American Catholicism that it may as well be its own sect at this point. Will be interesting to see if the Vatican keeps moving that direction.

Not sure what Italy has to do with any of this

The Pope is Argentinian and The Vatican is a sovereign nation landlocked within Italy.

Italy also produces EXCELLENT guns. Brescia is known as Gun Valley and have been producing military armaments since the 1200s. The Beretta firm was founded in 1565 and their first products were crossbows and wheel lock saddle handguns...

Not a Catholic myself, but early on it was obvious this man was a communist at heart. And..that's what he is...a man.

I feel most Christian groups, be it Baptists, Methodists, Presbyterians, Lutherans, etc have lost their way at the "leadership" level. Their national "conventions" if you will where they decide what their tenements are. Simply put, they've watered Church down by allowing things never before accepted.

One should not want to go to Church where its "OKAY" to sin which is what they've basically done...bent the rules to be more "hip." Church needs to make you look into yourself and remind you that you can always clean up your act and give you guidelines on how to do so using Christ (for Christians) as a living example. One of the big reasons I quit going to Church - The level of hypocrisy was staggering. I know we are all hypocrites, but I at least acknowledge I am at times. Another example is a colleague of mine says because I don't go to Church I'm going to rot in Hell because it means I'm a non-believer. So judgmental; but I know enough to know if he truly believes, he wouldn't be judging me as only God can do that.

The standard we are judged by isn't a human standard. God doesn't grade on the Bell Curve.

God grades using Himself as the standard. That is why only He, Himself could meet it.

The question has never been, "How good of a human are you", but "How good of a god are you"?

Idk, seems to me there are more direct paths to god than by someone annointed as such.

Not a dig at any religion.

Just seems to me that as anything, its about power, influence and money.

Where as, a personal relationship only costs you honesty and humility.

The Catholic Church traces its line directly to Jesus Christ and the twelve Apostles. Too bad man had to fuck it up.

I'm proud to be a Catholic warrior but fuck that guy

I hear you but it's hard to find one worse in recent history........
Amen.....In nomine patris, et filii, et spiritus sancti

Dunno dude. Those pedo-priests got away with a lot in my lifetime. No telling where that shit was stifled.

JP II was an example for me as an exceptional Pope. This guy certainly is the bottom of the list IMO.

But I'm going with D_TROS on the fact the Church has overcome a great deal of shit (self imposed or not) through its history. I would hope they can stay true to their lineage as you called out.

Haha! I dropped the Catholic church after visiting the Vatican because of cake knives.

Walking in, there was a large congregation of homeless Italians. Once inside, the first display case I saw held not one, but two bejeweled cake knives worth more than I make in a year. It made me think of the parable about the woman that gave the only two coins she had to the temple and how grateful Jesus was because he knew her sacrifice.

    Something ain't right there....

I knew this was in the cards once he was made Pope and the church would turn left. Raised in a very strict Irish Catholic family and went to parochial schools. Drifted away from the church when it became apparent that many of the clerics were embracing socialism. I would find myself sitting in mass and the priest would be laying on a guilt trip for those of us who work hard for not giving more to those who refuse to help themselves. I was an alter boy when Mass was held in Latin now its like going to a Peter,Paul and Mary concert with all the kumbaya crap. The funny thing is the first of those to be persecuted under collectivism will be the ones currently embracing it.

There's going to be a state religion in the global community. The catholic poohba is hedging the church for that position.
    It's already been written.

    Leader of Catholics.......

Hates all the doctrine of Catholicism.

    Weird
“Split a piece of wood and you will find me. Lift a stone and I am there”

“The most high does not dwell in houses made with hands”

Two of my favorite sayings regarding my feelings on the difference between religion and faith.

And the current pope is a complete piece of shit. He’s agreed to/ignored some pretty horrific shit in the past

Never did care much for a man who simultaneously thinks he can forgive people's sins (he can't) and is a child molestor (comes from a long line of them). His words are as meaningful to me as the words of some retard from hollywood who thinks they are qualified to discuss domestic politics or geopolitics.

@The Vicar of Christ On Earth - Less time worrying about social issues that are 500% outside your lane and commie brain's comprehension, and more time spent preventing your priests from systemically gang raping children across the world.

    Signed,
    X-Catholic.

    Side note:

Do you know the difference between a Catholic and a Baptist?

Catholics say hi at the liquor store.

Back to our regularly scheduled program.

    R
Guy dies and goes to Heaven. St Peter is showing him around. They walk along and he says this is where the methodists are and here's the catholics. They go a little further and St Peter tells the guy to be real quiet. Said we're about to go by the baptists and they think they're the only ones here.
