I bet if you plugged that 19" in today after 40 years of use, it would most likely work. Today's TVs are wonderful but they don't last for shit.

In Jr high a teacher wanted to know what bus you ride. I don't. Everyone rides the bus. Not me. EVERYONE RIDES THE BUS, WHAT NUMBER WOULD YOU RIDE. I don't have one. She finally got real pissy, I pointed out the window, you see that house I live there. She shutup.
I was also a small kid, a small adult, and remember walking home in crotch high snow.
Back when I was racing someone raced a Pinto. 2L ford is a good engine. On the back of his car it said no bump drafting.

Right now at costco they have 48-50" tvs ranging from $1100 down to $240.
I have a pot almost exactly like that in our camping gear. That and our old two burner Coleman stove was a life saver when we had the big freeze here in TX a couple years ago and lost power for six days.
Guys do the kayak thing here out of Shelter Cove, found out the hard way not to let your fish stringer hang in the water. We grow BIG Great White's!
That $240 Hisense tv has a better image that the 19” CRT from 1983, with an inflation adjusted price of less than $80.
My sister has the one like that we used at her house just like that one. It has been re-covered a few times.
All you have to do is watch any TV episodes from about '94 and back to see how bad the imagery was.

Absolutely. There is no reason to invest in recording tech with a substantially higher res than can be broadcast.
