A few years ago, a buddy restored one of these for a Baker Electric.

Charging station was found intact in a house in Ct. or RI. It is 220 Volts. And there is not a single shield, cover or protection. Everything is knife switches. All mounted on a granite block. Weighs half a ton. Was as complicated as restoring a small car!

But talk about gorgeous when done. All shiny brass and actually works like a charm

At least the charging stations had style back then. Even if the cars were as useless as they are today!

Sirhr

PS notice the woman using it. Electric cars were marketed to women and children (yes children) because the gas cars were Too dangerous for them. So it was thought. And for driving to the cotillion or through the park showing off your finery to the other bimbos… an electric car was just fine. No dude would have driven one back then. They burned to death like men!!

Real men drove this.....

Not to be missed if you head that way. The Alabama is visible from 8 miles away and just gets more intimidating those closer you get!

Stop when you are three miles away and think about Ching Lee stalking Kirishima in the dark in the Washington and then look at the Alabama and her firing those guns at you at that range. Ching Lee was a world class shooter in his younger days. The battleship was just another rifle for him. In two minutes that string of fire was the turning point in the Pacific.
