I have found a gently used GAP 10 Gen 1 308 (20") for sale locally for a very good price. Roughly the same price a new Seekins SP10 (18").

I am not terribly familiar with either platform, other than I know they are both made very well.

Curious as to everyone's feedback. If you had the opportunity to purchase either one, which would you choose?

Thanks

I like mine....

I don't own either, but I would prefer the GAP. I coulda, shoulda bought the same thing ( GAP ) a few years ago... I still regret not buying it.

I consider them to be very well respected, and flat out have faith in anything they make. I can't say I remember any this is a POS threads about them.. ever.
Nothing but happy owner threads.

Clean the bore thoroughly and go shooting.

Seekins wise... and someone correct if I am wrong, but don't they sell various "grade's" of Large Frames ?

I realize GAP uses ( ?) Seekins products... but the "mechanic" doing the work matters as much as the parts.

Again ... no slam on Seekins at all.

Can you link to the Seekins you are talking about ? And maybe the model of GAP ?

Good information. I actually found a SP10M for sale at Mile High.

Not to throw a monkey wrench into the works... but why the 308 v. a 6.5CM ?

Both have numerous advantages... 308 "cheaper" to shoot, surplus ammo, numerous bullet choices..
But , man... the ballistics of the 6.5 CM are awesome for a Large Frame AR.

I guess a better question is... what is your intended use ? And how often ? ... ready long distance range ? brute power at closer range ?
fun gun , low cost to shot, within 500yds ?

And that linked Seekins is the "better"Seekins model.

Oops... I just noticed SP doesn't seem to offer a 18" 6.5CM

600 yard max. Very rarely do I get out past that. I don't hunt and only shoot a handful of matches a year, more so just a little plinking. I'll be upgrading my 6.5CM bolt gun later in the year. I've got a ton of 308 reloading stuff, so I obviously need a gun to go with it.
