Well the final piece to my 338 Whisper project came in today. The 5/8-24 to 3-lug adapter. Now I can run my YHM 9mm 3-lug SMG suppressor on my 338 whisper. Specs on the rifle are as follows:

Remington 700 action with side bolt release
6.5 twist bartlein barrel 16" long chambered in 338 Federal
Badger bottom metal
McMillan A-5 stock
NF 20 MOA base

All parts screwed together by Flounder at GAP. 300 grain SMK's at 1050 with Trailboss. This thing should be literally whisper quiet.

Re: GAP built 338 "whisper"

How is the case capacity when loaded? is there a lot of "free" space for the powder? I bet that 300SMK takes up a lot of room in the case. My 300 whisper is more consistant with the 220s and 240s to take up some of the extra room in the case. That is a sweet rig videos please

Yes...reason being is because it is a "step down" adapter. 5/8-24 to 3-lug where is is typically 1/2-28 to 3-lug.

Lehigh is a great group. Saw them at SHOT last year and they were explaining their 95BMG. The projectile weights almost a pound! The muzzle brake the on the rifle was 30 pounds alone.

Pretty crazy shit!
