Hell
got a cz453 to build into a trainer and then tom manners thankfully did the t4 for them.. still wasn't quite happy with the gun, i don't like the slide on bases and it needed a bolt knob, the stock bluing was getting signs of surface rust really quickly and i wanted to run a can... in comes GAP and BAM! this gun is BAD ASS!!!! can't thank the boys enough as always. all i want to add now is a hooper trigger guard, goin to throw a NF 2-10 on it here shortly when i get back from overseas.

thank GAP for:

bolt knob
custom scope base
thread and cap job
and black cerakote

Nice! Earlier today when you said "I'm getting my CZ back from GAP soon," you weren't kidding!

Beautiful! I'm gonna want to know two things: How well it shoots and what it's going to cost me to do mine.

it was done in two stages, you'd have to call and talk to meat head or the office ninja (dustin or kenny) at GAP to get a quote it was really reasonable, i'll get a range report soon, its just the factory barrel, i know they put a lilja on KY's so the possibilities are endless.

I've never been so jealous of a 22LR. Great rig, looking forward to the range report.

Been away from the forum for a while, whole things changed on me! I'm amazed my profile was still up and allowed to sign in yikes!

Anyway fantastic CZ you got there! I've been thinking about getting a CZ 455 to keep my old Rem 514 company! My 514 is accurate but is hampered by a mediocr trigger. Probably best for me not to wait too long on my decision considering the times!

Nice! I'm looking to spruce up my CZ and there are some great ideas right here, bet it will shoot lights out. Love the custom rail, just now debating whether to get a T4 added to the next UK shipment.

Really nice build! I see myself getting one of these fairly soon.

Joe, I bought a 455 22lr barrel from a guy off Rimfire Central and he had put a Lilja barrel on his. He had paid too muc money for it so he just kept it and sold me his CZ barrel. He said he would never buy another aftermarket barrel because the CZ barrels shot just as good. Lucky me i got a new CZ barrelfor $90.

i don't know how you say that anymore then anyone elses guns. but like you said to each their own. GAP and crew have given me consistantly awesome rifles, always awesome service and I consider George, dustin, bill, ken, and the rest of the GAP team friends. Isn't to say there isn't any other good smiths but i dont' see how you can say they are the "civic" of rifles.

Sure I could. But thats not the point.

jig not trying to start a huge debate bro. i own a DTA, 2 AI's, a benchmark built rifle. I am friends with mike from black ops, mike from tac ops, i know robert graduous makes great guns, jared from APA does incredible work, the surgeon boys are awesome and i know wade and company really well, the list can go on and on. really depends what you want, where you live, what their wait times look like, etc. But to say that once you've seen one gap you've seen em all is retarded. I own a GAP built on 2 templars, a surgeon and a badger, as well as they worked on my CZ and built me a gas gun... thats a pretty diverse lineup. stop shitting on the thread bro.

Nice rifle, Im loving these CZs in a manners stock more and more. Just might have to pick up a PT next year, once the current projects are done. Im interested to see what kind of groups you get out of the factory barrel. Seems like everyone who gets serious with these swaps to a lilja. Would be nice to save a couple hundred bucks and just get the factory barrel cut for a can.

The view from your mom's basement must be pretty dim. Quit being a fuck bag.

This is the typical response that happens here when someone doesnt bow down to anything GAP. My whole point of the post was while it is nice, Im not seeing anything special about it. Of course GAP does good work. Never said they didnt. However, the OPs rifle is the same flavor Ive become accustomed to seeing from them.

LOL moms basement.....right buddy....you got me.

That is the best looking trainer .22 I think I have ever seen, Big Joe. Been tempted to get a CZ myself and that Manners stock looks perfect. Gives me a way to have a trainer similar to my Manners T2 and McMillan A-5.

GAP is becoming the Honda Civic of rifles. Seen one, seen them all. But to each his own...

First off, VERY nice rig you have there. I love it when guys make a rifle truly their own. We all have different tastes and when someone takes the time to make their gun their own my hat goes off to them. What's special about it is it's his and he chose what work would be done to it. This guy even saved a rusting rifle. Please post a follow up range report.

Second (to the GAP/Honda/Regretting Life Choices Guy), we all have different budgets. What I did with my CZ 455 cost more than 3 times what the original rifle cost. Not everyone has that budget. They DON"T have less creativity... maybe they have some bills to pay. I can only wish I had the bank to bring to life all the ideas in my head. AND, this guy is returning from "overseas". This is an assumption here, but maybe this guy is in the service. If that's the case what do you think his paycheck must be like? If this is true then I'd say you made a pretty crappy comment.

Thirdly, GAP will do whatever you like. If someone chooses one of their stock rifles, then they have a really, really, nice rifle that might look like someone else's rifle. It's still a fantastic rifle. Some people save for a long time to get one of their rifles and going another mile for further customization may eat up up a few more mortgage payments. And I don't seem to notice a stream of CZ 453s rolling off the GAP line. Maybe I missed something. And if you want a rifle that looks like it has risen from the seventh level of hell or maybe one that reminds you of a prop from a romantic opera, GAP will do that too. But of course, that takes a little more of that budget we just talked about.

I want to add that there are other smiths that can toe to toe with GAP. One of them is Accurate Ordnance, who have done a few jobs for me, including my (awesome) CZ455. Their website sells them wayyy short. They pump out some serious works of art. I also have a project with Short Action Customs and I'll review that here when I get it back.

Joe,

You can thank Flounder for the work on your CZ.

As for the "Honda Civic" comment..........well you can only build a precision rifle so well without creating the lame dick add-ons that have plagued the AR market over the last decade. Good barrel/Good stock/Good assembly = Good rifle in fit/function/durability. This shit is not rocket science.

Granted we do alot of "precision rifles"..............but last time I looked we are named GA PRECISION RIFLES..........so go fuck yourself!

I like this guy, very eloquent with his words.

That's a nice looking rifle Joe.

Jig Stick - what flavor do you want to see? There's only so many ways to skin this cat.

Nice modifications to an already sweet stick. Hope to do some of them in the future.
