I'm buying the BSA 4-14x44 mil-mil ffp scope and need to figure out what scope rings and which size Butler Creek covers to get. I'm a newb to buying these parts as all the scopes I've purchased in the past came with rings and covers (and often came with the gun itself).

For the Butler Creek covers, the scope specs are:
Objective Bell Diameter: 51mm
Ocular Bell Diameter: 43mm

I'm not sure whether these are outside diameters or inside diameters. Can someone with the same scope and a pair of calipers take a measurement please (and then I can use the sticky on BC covers to select the correct size)? Or if you've got this scope and BC covers that fit well, please let me know which cover #'s you picked.

For the scope rings, I'm mounting the scope on a CZ 455 with DIP 25MOA Picatinny rail. Again, since I don't know if the 51mm referenced in the specs is the outside diameter, I'm not sure which 30mm rings (this scope has 30mm tube) will be the right size to minimize the gap between bell (including BC cover) and barrel.

One word - Brownells. The BC coverchanges things a little. For the record, my BC cover (rear) broke the first day of my hunt for no apparent reason. Whatever they are made of super glue don't fix em.

Use the very nice bikini cover that came with the scope, it's a MUCH better option than the butler creek covers. I've got four of them on .22's and .17's ;)

How do you like the scope? Tracks well? Returns to zero good? Glass? Thinking about picking this up cause money is tight right now until I can afford a better optic. Has some features i would like to try out (ffp, mil mil)
