Goung rate for used AR-15

Re: Goung rate for used AR-15

Honestly $800 is a very fair price for it. If it is a no bells and whistles AR he would be lucky to get 700 for it right now. Black rifle sales have really slumped since supply caught up with demand after the Obama freak out.

You can get brand new BM A3 rifles and M4 carbines for around the $900 mark NIB, plus S&H, etc.

Depending on the condition of your friend's rifle (you basically described LNIB), plus any included mags/accessories/upgrades, $800 is ok, but not great. I'd see if you can get it for less (like around $700) and if you really want it, $800 isn't totally unreasonable.

Re: Goung rate for used AR-15

I just sold a similar model Bushy to a buddy for $650, when I checked Gun Broker I was seeing anywhere from 600-850 being asked.
We settled on the low end, because I appreciated keeping her "in the family" so to speak.
I had more than 50 down the tube (probably 700-900 rnds), but am extremely anal about cleaning and care taking.

Since he's a buddy, I'd suggest doing the same thing. Pull info from the sales sites and offer fair value.
And what ORD said, the mags and accessories count, so keep that in mind when doing price comparisons.

$800 is fair deal...not getting ripped off at that, nor getting a good deal, just a fair one. Would think that if you got it in teh $700+ range, would be better for you, and still fair deal to seller.
