I can see groups on steel at 550 through my Leopold mk4. I fully expect to see holes through paper at that distance through the ATACR, if not at least with shoot n see targets.

We leave our steel out, and im too lazy to go toss a coat of paint on it to see where I hit If I hear it, thats all that matters to me. I shoot for kill shots, not worried about groups unless im zeroing or testing to see which ammo works best. I will have to someday for fun, but the last time I used the 338 Lapua, it blew most of the paint off when it smacked the steel anyway.

Yeah, 338lm at 500 does a number to any steel. I've been shooting 308 on black painted steel. It leaves just enough of a mark.

I can't tell if your joking, holes in paper at 550. Perhaps with a shoot n see. they give you a kind of larger than hole sized spash look. Splatters on plates are just a whole lot bigger than holes in a target.

In Jeff's review.....he references the line thickness of the MOAR as .140moa in the ATACR when it is .110moa.

The 15x MOAR is .140 and the 22x is .125.

Any word on the thickness of the MOAR on the 2.5-10x32?

I may try that for fun, but it is getting quite warm out so my interest in long hikes is quickly slowing down, especially since its a 1/2 mile hike in to our spot

Have you tried 1/2'' AR 500 with your Lapua Mag? I hit mine at 600 yards using my 338 LM, 300 SMK's at 2820 fps and it just peels the paint.

Yeah, ar500 handles the 338lm just fine. It's the paint you put on it that doesn't fair so well.
