Have found a lot of good info on this forum so I decided to join. I'm near Charleston SC and moved here two years ago after retiring from a major university in the Midwest. I'm fortunate to belong to a club with an 840 yard range. Those aren't common in the eastern US. Anyway, I'm newly into reloading and have some questions I'll post on the appropriate forum. Great to be here! Jeff.

Well here I go, replying to my own thread! I'm seeing weird burrs on the case mouth of some of my fired cases and want to ask for opinions about what might be happening. Any suggestions which forum I should use to post my question? Thanks!

welcome to the Hide. I get the Charles Town once or twice a year to visit family out on the islands. Would be real interested in an 840 yard range while visiting.

As far as weird burrs on your brass....post something in the reloading forums...and post pics...a lot of knowledge around here.

As to the weird burrs on your case mouths, What caliber and rifle? My first thought is they have grown a bit long and need trimming.

Thanks! When you get down this way let me know. I'd be happy to have you as a guest at the range and we can beat the heck out of some steel. I even have some rifles you can use if you aren't transporting. Couple of 6.5 CM's, and a 6BR that do well on the long side.

Thanks for the welcome! :) I think I screwed up a previous reply. Sucks getting old. Anyway, the rifle is a Gunwerks Magnus in 6.5 Creedmoor. I posted the issue and a photo on the reloading forum and someone suggested it could be related to ejection. That made a lot of sense to me since I bench shoot and reach over with my left hand to grab the round so it doesn't go flying. That could be causing the ejector to jam the case into the action somewhere.
