Re: H2CMR or P4 fine Or MSR
Few have used the MSR, as there's only a dozen, maybe 15 in-country.
If you like the P4F, but use your scope on 8-15 power a lot, I like the slightly thicker crosshair better.
It also does away with the weird .8-.9??? gap beside the little center crosshair and puts it at .5 mil.
The big 1 mil hashes vs. the .5 hashes seem to be easier to distinguish when you are in a hurry too (one of my major gripes with all these style reticles).
BUT.....If you want to range with it, NOTHING I have seen, including spotting scopes, comes close to working as well as the fine ranging reticle, it has the fine .1 mil marks and you can easily even see BETWEEN them at higher powers to get .05 mil calls. Mirage becomes the only limiting factor on ranging.
Plus no more trying to use the little hashes at the edge of the field of view, which is problematic at best. It's nice and centered in the FOV, very easy to use, but in no way is distracting while shooting.
Everyone that has seen it, including some top OK shooters, agrees.
I have rounded up two of them!
The H2CMR is a good reticle, but, when under pressure, like at a match, my mind seems to mess up my mil count while holding or ranging because of the round circles, I forget that they are .1 or .5 to the CENTER of the circle, and not to the edge of the circle. The main thing, though, is that the horz. x-hair has no .5 mil hashes and the verticle one does, my mind likes symmetry, I guess.
But this may be more of a training issue with me because I have used the P4F, MLR, TMR style for so long.
