Hey guys just bought a savage 12fv in 6.5 creed on the black friday sale. Starting to research components and H4350 seems to be a favorite for 6.5 creed. I have a stock pile of imr 4350 i use for my browning 270 hunting rifle. I know they are not identical, but would they be close enough to warrant trying before investing in another powder?

I also recently started loading for 6.5 Creedmoor (previously loaded 223 and 308 for many years). My research on the topic indicated the IMR4350 would be a good alternate to H4350 but was more temp sensitive. I think you would be fine to start with the powder you have.

If you decide to try a powder other than the IMR4350 that you have, I had very good results with IMR4451 both with 140 and 120 grain bullets. I also tried Varget (because I have a lot of it) but my personal results were not great.

My barrel is a 24" Bartlein Med Palma contour.

Thanks guys, happened to pass a cabelas on my way home and they had a can of h4350 so i grabbed it. Figure i will work up loads with that and the imr 4350 and compare them.
