I'm debating picking up either a bolt or lever action in .357 Mag. I know Ruger makes a bolt gun in .357 and lots of lever guns out there in the chamber. I love the feel of my Marlin 30/30, so leaning toward a lever gun. Never tired a bolt gun in a handgun cartridge though. Which do you like to shoot best?

I was looking at the bolt action Ruger. With the rotary mag, it should be the cats ass. Not to mention quicker reloads. I load for a Marlin Levergun in .357. Little shit is pretty impressive, we threw on a 4x scope... Shoot a good bit better than I thought it would.

The lever will feed smoother due to the cartridge being lifted mechanically to the chamber. The straight walled cartridges will always have a bit more trouble feeding smoothly, all the more so in a bolt gun. It'll work for sure, but not silky.

That aside, my wife's 1894 in .357 is a joy to shoot. Everything from mouse fart .38's to fire-breathing .357's. Too much fun.

One of my next purchase's in a few years will be a lever gun in .41 rem mag. I prefer the carbine style lever guns as they fell and point very naturally for me.

Lever gun all the way. I have owned and still own several Marlin lever actions in both 357 Mag. and 44 Mag.

They are tons of fun to shoot and carry in the field.
