My newest carry piece is so delightfully tiny

l have not fired mine for over 3 hours!

Just changed out the barrel on the Woodsman. This is it’s 3rd.

The 1911 I have no idea how many barrels it has had since it was issued to a family member in 1917.

I have several of the worn out barrels , other worn out parts from both pistols, all the barrels from the Woodsman, original worn out box and papers from Woodsman, worn out grips, magazines etc.View attachment 7384357
What barrels do you prefer?

What vintage?

My local shop often has some hanging around....

They tempt me but Im not sure what I gain over my S&W Model 36.

Not very old , thinking it was manufactured in 1974. Was passed down to me by my Uncle , a long time local grocer. Spent its life under a counter below his cash register.
IF it had the box , it would be close to a 100% gun. Looks unfired !

I like that the ejection rod is lugged.

The 1968 +/- vintage guns I pictured appear to be weak in that area. I could see bending the ejector easy to do though I havent ever heard of anyone doing so.

These old guns attract me. Their hand fit beauty will not be seen again.

One of those Browning designs with the recoil spring around the barrel?

I traded a similar Nazi marked FN of similar type toward a S&W M39.

Neat guns.
Many moons ago, I had one of those FN/Browning 1922s with all the nazi acceptance marks. Super neat shooter indeed

Picked this one up yesterday. CZ52

How do you like the Korth revolvers? Worth it over a worked over 686?

I own two S&W revolvers. I mid 80's 686 6" stainless and a 629 Performance Center Competitor. I shoot the two Korths above and my wife shoots and carries a Korth 9mm Sky Hawk. I can't really give you an accurate assessment of the comparison of the Korth triggers and a worked S&W, but I can say that my wife and I are both incredibly impressed with the Korth triggers in both single and double action use. When I'm shooting the red SuperSport ULX in double action it's almost like shooting a two stage rifle trigger where the hammer is cocked with the first stage and then it stops for the last crisp pull to fire the gun. I plan on buying a Korth NXR 6" 44 mag in the near future.

My wife's two handguns below. She is accurate with both and shoots weekly.

Her Sky Hawk can shoot 9mm without moon clips as Korth figured out a way to eject spent 9mm rounds from the cylinder without them. My red ULX above also came with a tuned 9mm cylinder. I can change between the two cylinders with the push of a button.

The Korth distributor in the USA I was surprised to find out is very near me.

They are an attractive gun and have me very curious.

All my smiths and the one Colt I own are 30 plus year old builds and they are pretty much "hand built" by old craftsman.

A korth would have to be pretty fantastic in my estimation.

The old guns I describe as an easy "roll" to stage, than a light single stage break to fire. fantastic.

You gotta love the craftsmanship of those older guns. With the triggers you describe I doubt a Korth would give you any advantage, though compared to my two S&W's they are a revelation.

Sounds very nice, I had the opportunity to shoot a no dash 686 a few weeks ago with a similar trigger. It totally pissed on a new production 686 I shot a bit before that.

Sounds like a “need” a .357/9mm Korth...

Just picked this up. Hungarian .22 conversion kit for a Makarov. I understand only 250 of these were imported here.
