Been lurking on the site for a while and finally decided to sign up. I'm in process of building a Rem. 700 AAC-SD .308 20". Badger Ordnance 20 moa base on the way. Going to put some decent glass on right off the bat(buy once, cry once) I've settled on a Vortex Viper PST 6-24x50 EBR-2c. I cant wait to get it all set up and do some shooting. I'm looking forward to learning the long range game, and techniques on this forum.

New here too, been lurking too... Also starting with same gun similar set-up, how about that. Same remington 700 AAC-SD (except mine is 16.5 I think, has threaded barrel). Also jumped in with a Vortex Viper 6x24 but in MOA, not sure why now that I have done more research. Also got a Savage FCPK and put the Vortex on it. But not sure the Remington doesn't shoot better..
Good Luck bro.

Yeah I'm pretty excited to see what kind of groups I can pull out of it, my base should be in tomorrow. Then its just a toss up of when they drop the new PST with the EBR-2c reticle(Mrad). Ill probably throw a Vortex Strikefire red dot on top off it just to break in the barrel this weekend. I'm really hoping that Vortex gets the new scopes out in the next couple weeks, its driving me nuts staring at it in the safe with out any glass on it. What kind of grouping are you getting with your 700?

It seem to be very dependent on ammo but with good 168gr HPBT it does very well... According the the target section of the "Ballistics AE" app it is shooting .48 MOA or .5". This was at 100 yards shooting from bags. I am going to try and attach a picture but it could go horribly wrong!!

I have not. I wanted to get an idea of what it does then how much it improves. Plus I ordered a MDT LSS chassis and it hasn't come in yet, they are few weeks behind. Don't know that I would have the patience to wait if it had already come in. I've been shooting most of my life (not long range thought) so I would speculate it won't get much better until I improve my skills. If you haven't seen the MDT LSS it's gotten good reviews and best of all it's reasonably priced. One of my instructors from work has one and really likes it, convinced me get one.

That is a good looking chassis! Before I had even gotten the gun I was looking at different chassis and stock options. I really like the KRG W3,XLR, and Mcree. When the funds permit I will be dropping it in a chassis, and I've got a gut feeling its going to be the Whiskey 3. haha my budget build will be more along the lines of a custom rig. I need to shoot it first before I make any irrational decision though

That Whiskey is sweet looking chassis. Since I am trying to build two guns (well 3 now, just got a bolt .223 gun the other day) simultaneously it wasn't an option. Figured the .223 would be easier to find ammo (and cheaper) and hone my skill with it. Good luck..
