Just joined as I thought it would only make sense since I transitioned from expensive pistol shooting, to even more expensive long-range shooting. So far, its been an adventure. A rather frustrating adventure, as Im still new to aiming at stuff beyond beyond 250 yards. Im not terrible, but I have a LONG way to go and hopefully you guys can get me to 1000yards by next summer. Just moved to Fargo, by way of Minneapolis, currently obtaining my masters degree and working at the same time.
My workhorse:
Remington 700 AAC-SD in .308 with a Millet 4x16 mil-dot and a standard AR308 muzzlebreak. Just had the trigger lightened to 3.5 lbs. I can at least hit the target at 300 yards, I bet I could go longer if I had the land available to me. (Its North Dakota, shouldnt be difficult.) Grouping?? Like I said, Im still starting out. I usually shoot Prvi Partisan match 168gr. when its available, though Ive had to compromise with some Colt brand, polished Magnesium cased 168 grain. I honestly cant tell the difference. My biggest problem right now is an awful flinch. Its bad enough to throw me off 2-3 inches in any direction at 100 yards and it only gets worse at 300.
If any one has a remedy, please, Im desperate.
