I want a scope for a new mauser project. I am not a competitive shooter just a new paper puncher that hunts. The scope is going on a custom trued mauser with a shilen 6.5x55 barrel. I know this a rather long list but I am leaning toward the leupold or the weaver. I have read a lot of positive reviews about the tracking and clarity of the weaver. I could not find much information about the weaver or bushnel on this board.

Which one of the following scopes has the best tracking and clarity or are they all about the same.
The burris is a late arrival to my list.

Leupold vx3 long range.6-20 $899

Vortex viper pst 6-24 $900

Vortex viper hst 6-24 $629

Weaver tactical 4-20 $800

Bushnell elite tactical 6-24 $860

Burris veracity 4-20 $750

I can personally vouch for the viper pst's on their tracking, I do a lot of shooting, often to 1000, so theirs a lot of adjustment to be done on the elevation turret and it along with my sightron siii have always tracked perfectly. The thing with scopes is that once you jump on the shooting wagon you eventually become unhappy with something that is not the "top of the line". so in my opinion its better to buy your dream scope once and use it forever then to settle with something that isn't exactly what you want. I shoot nightforce scopes now, but t.b.h. they don't do any thing that my sightron or vortex didn't do. I actually like the turrets better on my sightron then I do on my nightforce.
