I am trying to decide on some scopes to shoot out to 1500 yards with a 300WM, my max budget for the glass is ~700.

My question is: is it better to get a scope with only 75moa total adjustment (Vortex Viper PST 4-16x50) or something like the Millett 6-25X56mm LRS-1, which is cheaper and I would guess the higher zoom is not as clear, but it has 140moa's of adjustment.

Or if there is something better, please let me know.

Thank you for any help you guys can give me.

If you get the right base 75moa will be plenty to get you to 1500yards, what rifle and ammo are you shooting?

Thanks for replying, I'm shooting a Savage 111 long range hunter in 300 WM. According to the ballistic software I looked at, I'll need 64moa, but I might need more in reality(?)

I can push the price range limit up to 8-900, but variable power isn't really important.

Do you think something like this could work for me?

Might give the Weaver 3-15 EDMR a look. Great glass for the price and 30mil elevation (mine had 31.2) and tough enough to withstand the 300WM recoil. They go for about $750.
