I reloaded for pistols for about 2yrs now and this is the first I have run into this little problem.
Here it is:
I was loading up some 230gr. Hornady HP/XTP bullets over 6.2gr. of Power Pistol, 1x fired Win. brass, Fed 150 Primer. Yes, I sized them and belled them.
While following Hornady's OAL @ 1.230" my reloads where sticking in the chamber. I always dissasemble my 45ACP XD and slide a couple of my fresh reloads into the barrel to make sure they are correct. These ones were sticking pretty good. I reassembled the pistol and racked one and tried to eject it (I did this at the range) it was hell trying to eject it. I had to yank the hell out of the slide to get it out. I was afraid to shoot these so I took them home.
I tried seating them deeper @ 1.210 and they had less "stick". I went to seat them even deeper @ 1.195"-1.200" (Hornady was @ 1.230" remember) and they ejected fine with no problems, no stick at all.
<span style="font-weight: bold">Im wondering is this o.k. to seat them that much deeper? .030</span>"
