having been born in australia, now call america my home (for 20 years) all i can say is there are some subservient morons in the commonwealth. the thing i noticed immediately here is independence and everyone can go F*& themselves but not there. Make things just bad enough and hold it there for it to be accepted as "the new normal". This keeps them busy and out of the .gov's hair. This is all by design.

Lastly "getting the boot". All I have to say is look at Brazil, or for that matter the US. You may hold out hope that Italy had a good free and fair election, and they did. I don't think we have a right to talk about being willfully subjugated. We do not have freedom of speech, many cities/counties/states do not have right of self-defense.
The Brazilian people have been protesting in the millions for 53 straight days over their election issues. Doesn't mean anything will change, but they are demonstrating what we are not.
No one here is sticking up to their "lines in the sand". How many said mandates would do it? Free speech? Illegal search and seizure? What about this surveillance state? What do you call keeping people from going to church (restricting religious freedom) while strip clubs and liquor stores remained opened? Disarmament HAS been going on already, NY has been using "Red Flag laws for years" (I remember a case years ago of a NY guy in mourning that had a short term Rx for a benzodiazepine for a month during his grief, he was a competitive shooter, they went to his house and took his firearms); this only went public because he had the money to fight it, how many happen cases happen and persist with no recognition? Do you need to hear about troops going door-to-door, because that won't be for a while - the initial efforts in confiscation will be very focused, probably to the equivalent of "those 3% types". Denial of firearm purchase on BS grounds is already happening. Wait until they make use of their "domestic terrorist" lists to use red-flag laws for confiscation.
Unequal justice? I literally lost everything I earned, MILLIONS, due to corruption courts and judges; and with everything taken did not have resources to fight in appeals. Corrupt judge would not "allow" a simple Rule 108 to allow my case to proceed. There IS a two-tiered justice system.
Illegal search? I have personally had every single piece of personal mail/packages in the past two years opened by USPS and re-sealed. Every single piece of private mail. In all of my recent air-travels I have been subject to detailed (as in pressure on my pubic bone) body searches and chem-swiping of my hands for ZERO reason other than comments here; yes I have metal hardware but you can't tell me the new scanners don't clearly show where metal plates are in a body and are clearly distinguishable from weapons etc. I can't be the only one.

I do trust the elections in my country yes.
First, because our current Government couldn't rig an election of they tried as they are so incompetent it's honestly un believable.
Second, I know many did actually vote for those idiots based on the most retarded thinking imaginable.
Third, we have very little corruption at the highest level of Government not because corruption doesn't exist but the people who can benefit from it get nothing from our central Government, its at more local levels where the money can be made. At central level they don't need corruption, people can just set up a focus group or a consultancy and legimately get what they want without the need for corruption.
Not every country has politics like the US, I'm not scared of big Government or rigged elections because for the most part they are too stupid to be able to pull it off. Our current crop of idiots don't attempt to hide what they are doing, the media and public know what they are doing but still sing their praises anyway, or at least did.
I'm far more sacred of the general public than I am of the Government, the public have shown time and time again that their BS meters aren't working and will believe the nonsense spouted by the Government or by the media. Thats why I'm not worried about these stupid rules this time round, they only work when the media is helping spread the Government BS and the people keep eating it up. Soviet Russia didn't have the resources to keep everyone under their boot, it requires the people to buy into the story and help keep themselves and their neighbours oppressed. For the past 5 years the average person has been stupid enough to think our Government was doing a good job and was actually believing them. Now that they have lost buy in from the public (due to relatity kicking in) they are screwed.
The scary thing is nothing has actually changed, the Government was always as hopeless as they are today but people just couldn't see it.
It's exactly the same around the world, the USA hasn't lost its gun rights not due to the constitution but due to it being politically not possible. Once the populations in the cities has more political clout that the rural folk or the people with gun culture, your gun rights will be gone. Unless you have state politicians with big balls that stands up to central Government you'll be screwed.
Just like here the Government can wage work war again farmers and rural folks because they are outnumbered by the city/town peoples.
Yet the farmers just keep bending over and taking it, until they actually make an ultimatum with the Government and start hurting the back (like Dutch and farrmers have tried doing, or the truckers in Canada) then the Government can do what they want.
There is nothing new under the sun, the general population doing what they are told and good people not standing up in the lessons of history.
You can blame lizard people, or the world bank or who ever but ultimately people don't change.
Thankfully most western countries are setup in such a way that only so much damage can be done. I honestly think we will have a change of Government next time around and can hopefully get some sensibility back.

NZ doesn't need back room deals and stolen elections, Politicans are open about what they are doing and the utopia they are aiming for, and the utter failure of these policies is also obvious to everyone.
The scary part is that people can't see it for themselves, often not becasue the aren't paying attention but because they actually think doing something horribly and wasting millions/billions of dollars on the way is how you work out solutions.
People forget that having open and honest debate about problems is an option anymore, idealism and utopianism is sexy and the only option in most peoples minds.
