hi , I was poking arond in the basement and found 2LBS of Hodgdon's BL-C powder unopened , I donot have any loading specs on this powder , can I use it in my garands with out hurting the operating rods ??
if so how much ??

Try a loading manual. There is more in one than just data.

8th edition of hornady says with 168 and 175/8 bullets its good to go.

41.4 - 47.8 for 168

40.4 - 47.4 for 178

46.0 BLC(2) with a 175SMK loaded to mag length (try Win brass and a BR2 primer) should hit an accuracy node.

start on the lower end. military brass has less volume typically. be careful when working around max listed loads.
