Kicking Ass Somewhere
I do not like the status creep that has been taking place since 9/11 that is equating the Military and Police in our culture and in the minds of Civilians. They are not the same and its dangerous to keep equating them. Cops are revenuers and the internal reaction forces of the Dem and Repub parties, the MIlitary protects the Constitution from enemies which are mostly Democrats and republicans these days.

What you are noticing is called Nationalism, which took off in this country on 9/11. Totalitarian governments do this. Think black shirts and brown shirts. SS and wermacht.

It's the militarization of the police, it's the next step. Not the first time it's happened. When power runs amok and views the people as the enemies, it's what happens. They're digging in, stringing wire, whatever you wanna call it. Then divide and conquer. While they get better armed, the politicians are working asses off to disarm the population, criminalizing new shit daily almost. It won't end, not unless we do something. So yeah, I'm calling for action, not violent action but action. An action to hopefully prevent violent action, which is almost assured if we continue down this path.

I wrote about what needs to change to set this country straight in another thread on here, asking advice on what to do to fix it. But the gov. doing it? Without being forced to do it? Slim chance to none. Same as getting the apathetic population to actually get behind it nationwide. Force constitutional amendments, sort of a BOR part 2 section, a Magna Charta for the 21st Century. In part: Outlining limitations of government and their responsibilities, ultimately treating them the same as us. Abolishing parties and 1 six year term limit including justices which are also voted for. Overhaul voting process and remove money from politics. Tests, not picking from the bottom of the barrel and no confidence votes.

We do that and this other shit just goes away. It'd set our country right and fast.

I'm afraid if it comes to civil war here, that we'll end up with a worse government than we started out with. We could end up with the same, that now entrenches further and just comes out of the closet about the totalitarian shit, or we could end up with a power vacuum and that gets filled by people even worse. Or it creates a feudal system. Really, the outcome is unknown. Unless a winning side had an end game and promise of a future it meant to see through sort of like during the Revolution, we could end up with anything.

I really just wanna see a country for the people, of the people and by the people some day. The way it's meant to be, you know?

Isn't DHS Washington DC's military? Based on facilities, assets, and equipment purchasing bid requests I'd seen during the Obama year's it's hard for me to think elsewise.
