If anyone has a line on where to get a scope with the Horus Vision H-27 reticle, please let me know.

Yes, I know that one of these recently sold. But that one is gone and no longer available.

Also, I am NOT looking for the H-58 reticle even though some consider it to be "almost the same thing" Thanks!

That's what I thought, but I got a big "NO" from Paul @ Premier. They put some of these in S&B's a while back, but he said they don't carry them now. It's a shame as that is such a great reticle IMO.

Re: Horus Vision H-27 Reticle?

many thanks, but what I'd really like to see is a through the scope picture of a scope that is actually for sale that has the h-27 reticle.

In the mean time, I'll just keep dreaming ...

According to Euro Optic I won't be getting the scope till January.I'll put a pic up when it arrives.

I hope that is true, but this is the response from EuroOptics that I received:

You didn't say what you want to learn from looking at a through-the-scope image. As someone mentioned, there are a few Leupolds available with the H-27, but their fields of view (FOV) are only 60-70% of the S&B's, and the S&B's image quality is better. With the H27 cluttering up the bottom of the sight picture, I think the clear FOV at the top and sides of the reticle becomes more important with a Horus. On the other hand, the Leupold is only 2/3 the price of the Schmidt und Bender! I had a USO with the H-37 and found that I needed to use it on the highest power (22x) to see well between the grid lines (or so I thought). If that scope had a mil dot or GAP reticle, I would still have it. The Horus isn't for everyone.

Re: Horus Vision H-27 Reticle?

My interest in seeing a pic of the H27 or H58 is about the horizontal line hight at the top magnification.

My H37 SN3 is almost at the roof of the scope at 22x.

I wish for a reticle that would not go over 1/3 for the first horizontal line(zero)

Re: Horus Vision H-27 Reticle?

The H-37 is called an "extreme range" reticle and is placed high in the sight picture to access the larger holdovers. The H-58 and H-27 are not extreme range reticles and their zeros appear to be centered in the sight picture.

Re: Horus Vision H-27 Reticle?

Question remains, how high the reticle at 25x and how many mils of elevation visible(25x)?

Ranger, do you have other pics of this reticle at what is the magnification?

Re: Horus Vision H-27 Reticle?

Given that you can dial elevation on the scope to bring the elevation "down", why do you care?

For example, if I were shooting targets beyond 1000 yards, I could dial 10 mils on the scope. Then I'd have at least 10 mils of usable elevation starting at 10 mils and going up.

Re: Horus Vision H-27 Reticle?

My problem with the H37 is that at 22x, the full view of the scope is through the reticle.
This makes it hard to see conditions like mirage.

I enjoy the design of the Horus reticle, but for my needs, I would prefer a reticle that would leave at least 30% of the upper view clear and around10 Mils of elevation at 25x.

In regard to windage, stradia that would match the ballistics of a 308 would be enough.

I understand that the scope is not limited to the elevation of the reticle and that adjusting the zero for 200 or 300yds will allow me more distance from the reticle

Re: Horus Vision H-27 Reticle?

Ranger, have you called USO yet? That picture of the H27 is out my kitchen thru the back yard, and it is on a USO 3x17. If you are OK with a USO scope, I would think they could do another one for you too.

Having said all that, I am looking at a H58 or Gen 2XR for the next reticle/scope deal.

Good luck, let us know what you find.

Re: Horus Vision H-27 Reticle?

First let me apologize if you have your answer. I saw your question on Google and didn't read all the replys.

Leupold has just started shipping the new Mark 4 with the Horus reticle. The model number with the H27 is 110086 with a MSRP of 2279.99. US Optics can get them for $2279.99 (wow, that is a bargin.) Nightforce will have the NXS but they are going to have the Horus H58 reticle. Haven't talked to Alex at Eurooptics yet to check the price.

ETA: The model number mentioned above is for the 6.5x20x50 M5 version.
