In general, the scope is a distraction to good shooting, unless you've had some basic marksmanship training. The scope is the great deceiver. First, it will demand you put all your concentration into aim, making you believe the barrel is pointed where desired by just establishing a steady relationship between the reticle and target. The more magnification the more deception, distracting you from building your position and adjusting your NPA before getting the hold you're after.
