How much to jump or jam 155gr amax in .308?

Curious as to what others are experiencing with 155gr .30cal amax bullets, about to work up a new load and debating on starting point...


I utilize Dan Newberry's OCW method and have had solid success so far, he instructs on his site to back off .020" from lands but was curious what others have seen. My rifle likes berger vlds about .008 off the lands so far.

The 155 gr amax has worked well in several different guns. Most were jumped long .030-.050+ for long throated Remington's from mag length. Very impressed with it on game as well.
I would start .010 then when tuning go .005, .010, .020, etc.

Mine doesn't care with those bullets so I just load to factory spec

I haven't shot the 155's. The 80gr Amax's in a .223 usually like to jump about .040".
