Has anybody come up with a better DBM for the Howa Mini? I've got a lot of projects I'd love to use a mini-action on, but right now the CZ 527 and the Howa seem to be the only games in town. I've read about the replacement bottom metal for the Howa, with a better magazine release, so that solves that problem - but what about the magazine itself? I haven't had any luck so far finding alternatives online.

I upgraded my Mini with a Bell and Carlson Stock and the DIP bottom metal. Significant improvement over stock, however, the magazine still leaves a bit to be desired. Since it's a hunting rifle though, it hasn't held me back since I very seldom need more than one shot at coyotes. Not because I'm a great shot but because if I do miss, they bolt away too fast for a follow-up.

The only magazines for the Howa Mini are the ones made by Legacy International and Howa. As for bottom metals, there are a few companies that make them in detachable and in blind box magazine style.

Detachable, http://www.diproductsinc.com/ (CDI used to make one before the owner passed away.)
Internal box, http://www.oregunsmithingllc.com/ and https://www.jeffersonoutdoor.com/

As for a chassis system, I have the Oryx for the mini and like it. I was thinking of doing a 6.5G 22 inch light weight hunting rifle with the B&C M40 mini Howa stock and using one of the blind internal box magazines.
