HS Precision sling studs keep getting loose

Anyone have any ideas on how to reinforce the front sling studs on my HSP 700P stock?

I use a Harris and a Tactical Intervention sling often. The sling, especially when being used frequently, leads to the stud unscrewing.

Please: No 'Buy a mc or manners' comments. I like the P stock.
Just some suggestions on how to reinforce the studs... There's always epoxy, but I was hoping maybe there is some hardware or something more permanent? I figure epoxy will eventually wear and I will be back at the beginning(?)

are they just unscrewing? could you sling from the bipod instead of the second stud? on mine i have two holes in the barrel channel. if i were to re-enforce them, id have to use those T nuts and attack it thru the barrel channel, filling back in with epoxy most likely. got any pictures? is it opening up the hole or just enscrewing with each twist of the sling?

Right now the front one just keeps unscrewing from using the sling- Going from shoulder to position and back causes it. i figure it will eventually lead to more serious wear.

I don't often use the bipod in the field, so I attaching it to the bipod, while good advice, would not always be convenient.

ahh, well i wasnt sure thats what it was. i thought it may have been oblonging the holes and being loose in the stock. could it be as simple as switching to flush cups? or just using lock tite maybe?

but yes, those were the T nuts i meant. but that was if the stud was making the hole bigger. i think thread locker would do the job, start with blue/purple and if needed, try red.

Mine are epoxied in position.

I have the same problem with the front stud on my Manners as well, I loc-tited it.

Reinforce the studs with something like T-Nuts from the back side.

H&S stocks have a habit of allowing the studs to rip out when they are used hard.

Check out APA sling swivel studs.
They won't break!

The 700P stocks I have messed with all had aluminum in front end for swivel stud to attach to. They all come loose when using with a sling.

I just mix up eitehr Marine Tex or JB Weld and force into hole. Then screw stud in, clean up excess and use.

I used epoxy on mine and they haven't come loose in 2 years of heavy use. Unscrew, squirt a bit in the hole and on the threads, screw back in and immediately wipe off excess.

Thanks for all the replies. I have some epoxy laying around and will give it a try. I had my doubts, but it seems to be a solution.

if you want to use the epoxy, its gonna be permanent. maybe try the red loctite first. heat will break that free. otherwise the epoxy will do the trick. you could use kiwi wax on the threads if you ever want to take the stud out, but that may defeat the purpose and the red loctite would be better if you want to back that out ever
