Take a rifle and ammo with you and get there early. Tell folks that this is your first time and wanted to observe. You may get talked into shooting!!

Local competitions are great fun and I always learn a lot from others. Go and shoot and don't be intimidated as long as you have basic knowledge and have practiced LR shooting. Good Luck

If all goes accordingly I'll be hosting the 3rd Pasquotank Precision rifle Match in Elizabeth City late this year early 2014. Match was not held this year due to all sorts of issue's.
