Ok, I’m an idiot. I have a Weatherby Vanguard which came in a MDT LSS chassis with a Luxe rear stock. The grip and my hand are not fiends. The trigger is too high for the way my fingers are curved. I ideally need a trigger shoe with about 1/4” of additional length, and with less of a curve in the shoe. So, what does dummy try and do? Well straighten the shoe (without using heat) and I ended up snapping the cast shoe in two pieces. Now that it is a mess, I need to have it tig welded back together. However, if I am going to do this, maybe it is better to just cut the old shoe off and add a longer straight shoe. My question is what material can I source to fabricate the replacement shoe from? Any ideas? Maybe the shank of a drill bit? (I think a straight shoe would work well). Does anyone have any ideas for me?
