While everyone is looking at the bad, bad engineers who are merely designing between the lines of the legislation (that is Constitutionally-suspect at best)... Not one news outlet ran a major story on this mass-shooting in Chicago a few days ago.

Nor did they mention that the Homicide rate in Kabul is significantly lower than in Baltimore (which Trump pointed out and the AP attacked... before realizing, 'oh shit, he is right' and binning the story."
The powers that be, on both sides of the Swamp, don't want solutions, they want issues. This is a winning issue... and a wound that can be poked any time folks need a distraction or a whipping-boy.
True, sometimes the engineers should say 'just because we can, does this mean we should?" And bring on the scrutiny themselves. But, then again, that is capitalism at its best!
If we voters would get out there and clean-House (see what I did there) en-masse.... then we could perhaps get NFA repealed... or the Hughes Amendment. Or get some good definitions in place. Personally, I think 'Shall not be Infringed' is a pretty good definition. But there are those who will disagree.
We also need a SCOTUS with one-less Ruth and a couple more young, Constitutionalist justices. And a bunch of appeals court judges who are in the same category. And that's happening at an amazing rate. This is why the Dems are just going crazy trying to get Trump out. It has nothing to do with Ukraine... the speed is that in 8 years, Obama put in 70 judges. In less than 3, DJT has put in 180 or more and is reshaping the insane 9th Circuit FAST! In 5 more years, he will have appointed something like 70 percent of all the federal Judiciary. THAT is why they need to get rid of him. Because all the immigration and 2A and free speech and Gerrymandering shenanigans that are going on in states and cities and around the country won't survive the Trump Courts. For 40 years.
So perhaps these 'test cases' coming from places like Franklin are well-timed and are designed to work their way through a new system. One that is ruled by Constitutionalists, not by activists who think the BoR is a useless document written by old white men.
