I'm really liking the Garmin 701

So, I finally sat down to update the 701 yesterday....

Plugged it into the desktop via standard USB cable (provided).

Launched Garmin Express.

Turned 701 on,

Garmin Express runs, says "update complete".

Unmount 701, which immediately asks "Update Software?"

Select "Yes" and....it updates.

No fucking around with shitty BT connections, flaky interface software or half ass phone apps. No fuss no muss.

Kestrel/AB team, are you listening? I hope so, because my 5700Elite has been wearing a hole in pouch on my pack (where it has stayed for the last several local matches).

Have to agree , Kestrel has been relegated to correlating waves / gusts of wind with environmental signs
in unfamiliar environments . To be fair the Kestrel button interface was never designed with a solver in
mind . The 701 has quickly become my primary solution device , being able to use it as a secondary
ranging device , GPS etc is a useful bonus .
