Suppressors Interesting, shotgun suppressor

I am interested to hear if anyone has tried this, looks pretty sweet. Seems like the weight may be an issue. Going to ask my FFL if he can get one and how much.

Why are you interested in how the ATF interprets the design? It's rather simple, the rearmost 6" section is obviously the main section which will bear the registered serial number. Each additional section will stack on top of it to the user desired specifications, but are non-functional themselves without the rear section as it contains the provisions for mounting.

A K-baffle is non-functional without the tube but very illegal to possess on its own. ATF is very clear that silencer parts are themselves a silencer and cannot be owned separately. If SilencerCo got a letter to the contrary, props to them, but ATF has denies multiple other modular suppressor designs for this reason.

According to some info posted from SilencerCo they very clearly have gotten the okay to proceed from the ATF. It would be silly for the ATF to say no in this particular case as the can is being sold as a whole and the user can configure it to whatever they desire. Merely possessing a K-baffle for a can that is registered is not illegal. If you were to choose to shoot the can with one of the baffles removed there's no documentation to suggest that the ATF would deem that illegal. Obviously in the case of a traditional tube that would be silly, but it's really no different.

Possessing the K-baffle on it's own is an issue without an approved form 1 or 4 due to constructive intent. If you were to make your own can it's no different than if you are making an SBR, you cannot legally have the parts until the form 1 has been approved. Once it's been approved, you can now magically have your short barrel. It's really no different in this case as there is no more worry of constructive intent once you have the approved form.

The ATF did approve this design and Silencerco already has a bunch of these manufactured. The come 12 inches and if you want to shorten it, you much purchase a rod set for around $50. You also have to purchase a choke mount kit for your type of shotgun. These are an additional $250 each, on top of the $1000 to $1400 price tag for the can.
