I'm looking for information on IOR scopes with 1/8mil adjustments. I've never used any milliradian type reticle or used mils for ranging in any way. I'm specifically looking at a Dragunov Reticle model.
Just wondering how good a 1/8 mil adjustment can be especially if you're trying to correct quickly for a shot that's a few inches off at an odd number of yards. Calculators have made me painfully slow in doing math in my head. Is there any trick to making quick compensations without having to multiply 1/8mil(0.45"@100yds) by other factors to get the adjustment?
I also noticed the older IOR scopes only have dials going up to plus or minus 5 making the in the neighborhood of 2.5 mils in the positive or 9" @ 100yds. Has this ever been problematic in ranges out to 500yds?
