Iron Brigade Armory info needed

Re: Iron Brigade Armory info needed

RT,

I have owned several of IBA firearms and they are top notch. I had issues with Norm Chandler through the build process. Norm Chandler Jr was great to work with once he stepped in for his dad. Very nice fit and finish. Long lead-time and service after sale is not as good as I have received from GA Precision or KMW (Terry Cross). Accuracy of the three mentioned was equally as good or I am not a good enough shooter to tell the difference. Pricing between the three vary. There are others on this board that can build a great stick as well. I have only owned IBA, GAP and KMW. I hope to add to the list from a few other smiths that post here.

whats the issue with? If its the way it shoots, then it is more than likely gonna fall on Hart's shoulders because they do all IBA's barrel and action work.

Re: Iron Brigade Armory info needed

I have an IBA M40 Longrange rifle and I bought one of the Rem M40 repro's when they first came out from them. Always had good experience, no problems. IBA M40 is extremely accurate and at least by my judgement very well made.

Also had a minor problem with Norm Sr. during the build but nothing too bad. Next rifle will be from GA Precison though.

Re: Iron Brigade Armory info needed

I have an IBA M-40A3 #144, from 1998. Have had nothing but good things to say. I have been interested in USMC snipers in history since I can remember, so naturally I have been a fan of the "Death From Afar" books. I like the durability of my rifle, as well as the history of the the Chandlers. I sent the rifle back in 07 to get some updates as well as a Surefire can. I got back an XM-3! Same rifle, just improved. It came back better than I sent it. Great service, and great prices on after the sale items(my can, and NF). My rifle shoots outstanding! I have been able to take 2 Mule Deer with it at a fair distance. You have to pay for the name, but it's only money, right? There other great rifles out there, we haven't had it any better. But I went with a Chandler, and never looked back. Good luck, JPG

I have the IBA M40A3 300Wm #237 , I have just good things to say , Chandlers are good people and they build good stuff IMHO , they may be pricey but I was never disappointed .

What is the history that you like?

Re: Iron Brigade Armory info needed

Thanks for the intel guys. Sorry to be so vague, maybe I should have posed the question differently. It seems that they are a legitimate shop with a long history. My issue is with my credit card information being stolen and the attempted use. I have been able to identify the transaction and that's why the question. With them being legitimate I will notify them of the security issue directly. It very well could be a security issue with my employers system. That's why I'm NOT making accusations about IBA. Just fact finding.

Thanks, RT

Iron Brigade Armory:

I have great respect for Col. Chandler and the oporators that worked with him at Blackwater.

In between tours to the sandbox
I was sent up to blackwater for
The Military scout sniper school.
It was there that i aquired a chandler rifle. The knowlede, training, and the rifle
Saved my life. It was later that he
Put out rifles to the civilians.
And i dont know how the civilian
Version rated.
I was suprized to see IBA ‘s name on
This web site.
