Hello guys.
I am about to put together my first rounds of 338 Lapua to my TRG 42. I have been doing some reloading before but only to smaller calibers.
When I read in the Vihtavouri reloading manual they set the COL for the 250 gr Scenar to 93,5 mm (3,681) and 250 gr Lockbase to 91,5 mm (3,602).
My maximum maglength is 94,80 mm (3,73).
The problem is that when I measure max COL length in MY gun I get 93,4 mm for the Scenar and 91,4 mm for the Lockbase.
This means that if I follow the recomendations in the manual, I will have the bullets jammed 1/10 mm into the rifling.
I will ofcoarse start low and work my way up and look out for pressure signs.
My question is if it is safe to start with COL this long or should I back off abit from the rifling and start from there?
Thanks
