Sorry, I can't figure out how to add a picture of the target. The only button I see is to link to a picture on another site, but no way to browse my hard drive and upload one. I will look at it again tomorrow and see if it makes more sense.

db, you have to upload the photo to another site like photobucket.com, and then link it from there. photobucket will tell you how to link to whatever site you want.

There was one that was right on the line. But I counted it cause I figured if you were shooting at a real metal gong you would have heard it as a hit.

Shot this sideways to fit better on the bullet box. Off a bipod, on a hard concrete garage floor, which I think contributed to the vertical stringing. Other than the cold bore/cold shooter shot, which was just off. I'll try later on a softer surface or bag to see if I can eliminate the vertical stringing, but it's not as easy to get level, contributing to horizontal shift in the POI.

Re: JULY 2010 SH 100 TO 300 YD RIMFIRE COMPETITIONS

Wow. Lots of competition this month. I hope I get to make it out to the range to throw a few rounds on some paper.

Both targets fired rapid fire, Support side really needs some work.
Problems with vision, whiney joints, unused muscles, complaining nerves.
Positions 101; if you're comfortable you are doing it wrong!

Thanks! Wind was about full value about 5 - 10 mph. Temp was about 92 with high humidity. Typical day down here for this month I guess. My bad. Forgot to post ammo. Normally I use Winchester V-Max, but lately I have been using CCI TNT hollow points. With the CCI's, the POI doesn't seem to be effected at all no matter what the barrel temp is.

DNZ,

You may not know how to embed images but you sure know how to shoot!

I will post the target later. It is a heartbreaker. Mirage was so bad, I couldn't see my shots. When I walked up to it, I saw that my wind reading was consistent, but to the right a couple of inches. This could have been a great target.

So frustrating. I hope to get out again tomorrow... but that is August. I am looking forward to the tactical rimfire. I need to work some more on my 50 yard chops. That will help me with Smack the Smiley.

Thanks to all that participated this month, and your input in the learnings thread. Looking at the different styles of rifles and ammos being used both in the long range and short range matches and the tips and tricks shared, it's turning out to be a good source of information.

2 new shooters to the comps - DNZ - posted the highest scores in both .17hmr 100 yard prone and bench "paper" matches. And RFTINKERER the top spot in .22lr.

Another new shooter to the comps DBALDERRAMA chimed in with his .22 mag.

One of these days everyone that shot in the past along with those in the present will "cosmically" all shoot together for a 20+ rifle shootout.

With the next competition in August, the month of the Perseids meteor shower, that "cosmic alignment" may happen. (I know it's kinda corny, I like to set a theme for the next month).
