Re: JULY 2011 SH 100 TO 300 YARD RIMFIRE COMPETITIONS

Thanks, I just go out post a target with a RWVA sighter square next to it.
Then fire enough sighters to check zero, and let them rip, rapid fire.
The word is lucky.
But I know the 9 came on the first shot when the operator failed to follow through.
The wind remained light but steady through 2 mag changes and 25 rounds.
Not likley to have such favorible wind again for a while.

Re: JULY 2011 SH 100 TO 300 YARD RIMFIRE COMPETITIONS

just to help me or someone else out for compiling scores at the end of the month, can we move the "sidebars, thoughts, techniques, and learnings" over to the learnings threads (unless their is a scoring / rules question)?

not trying to be a dick, but it gets a little time consuming filtering through the conversations to add stuff up. (i'm guilty of it too).

i'd appreciate it, thanks.

Re: JULY 2011 SH 100 TO 300 YARD RIMFIRE COMPETITIONS

no big deal guys, but it will help out a bit when time is short.

was also thinkin' that out of the chit chat comes some good information / tips that can be easily referred to in the learnings thread for both the long range and short range matches that will help everyone out, which was the point of those threads.

like i typed before, not trying to be a dick or a "site nazi", it'll just help out at the end of the month whether it's me or someone else diveying things up.

thanks.

Re: JULY 2011 SH 100 TO 300 YARD RIMFIRE COMPETITIONS

Im new to shooting these matches with yall. But ive been shooting for a while. Im trying to get Cartermayfield to post some pictures for me of 1 of my rifles with 2 25 shot groups at 100 yards. One group is with Wolf ammo It scored a 250 with 23x the other is Eley a 250 with 24x. The gun is a custom with a March 10x60 scope. I hope i used the right targets X ring is 1 inch 10 is 2 inches

Re: JULY 2011 SH 100 TO 300 YARD RIMFIRE COMPETITIONS

Thanks Carter. I had some very good conditions this morning. Didn't help me one bit with that Marlin 925 from 100 yards, but I was happy with the 200 yard results with the Savage. My Savage seems to like this Federal 711B. I might stick with it for a'while and see how it goes.

I'm still out of some of you guy's league when it comes to this long range shooting, but even an old dog like me finds a bone every once in a'while.

looks like i still have enough of this bad lot ammo to carry through to september. until then, i'm stock piling wolf MT and CCI Std. vel. of wehich i'll stick with the wolf in the MKIIBV for longer ranges, and the cci std. vel. in the MKII F for short range stuff and silhouette.

A big welcome to NESIKABAY a new shooter to the comps and came 1X away from pulling off a clean target. I think a clean 100 yard target was once shot by Carter, I'm not quite sure. If not, NESIKABAY has at least tied the best score or topped it coming right out of the box. Looks as though JOE MARTIN had a good run this month, and BERGA is still the 300 ace with AQUATIC_ROBOTIC nipping at the heels.

A big congrats to everyone that placed in the top spot in their respective classes.

Here we are heading into August, the unofficial last month of summer. Where does the time go? Enjoy the dog days, we'll be raking leaves before we know it!
