Well it's not a K-bar or sidearm but ...

I purchased this modern day reproduction but was unhappy with the handle and the furniture on it as it had more of a chinese look to it.
THere were somequality control issues with the Habaki being glass bedded - something you do not do on a sword...

So I sent the sword to Fred Lohman in Portland, renouned expert in Japanese sword restoration. Had two new Habaki installed, and I purchased a new theme of furniture - modeled (Cast after) a 500 year old set of swords...

SO the swords arrived yesterday , woot I was stoked...I got the furniture on just to get a pic ..

Re: Katana upgrade

Very nice swords. Fred does some nice work for sure. He helped me restore the WWII sword my grandfather brought home a while ago.

Re: Katana upgrade

He does - and he's a great guy to talk to, very good guy.

Not cheap but you get what you pay for in any field.

Now I'm going to build the Tsuka and wrap the Same on it, but I'll probably send it back down to Fred for the wrap, although I have a friend who is a Kendo Sensei who said he would do it for a few hundred dollars...LOL,

Swords are more expensive than guns, initially anyway...
