That vile Communist almost got his way to full dictatorship of the country. As it was he bullied the cowards in the supreme court into rubber stamping his evil agenda and we are paying for it to this day.

He was in true Communist form the first to break the gentleman's rule that you do 2 terms then quit, that all others including Washington had followed, which forced us to have to put it into an amendment.

Not only did his Communist plans make the great depression vastly longer and much worse, but he used the trouble he produced to destroy liberty.
They forget to teach people in school that the Federal Reserve Bank actually caused the crash that started the great depression by "accident", yet they try to blame it on the "evil capitalists".

As much evil as LBJ, Obama and Clinton did, they pale in comparison to the permanent damage to the country and liberty that both Roosevelt and Wilson did.

I mentioned that to show why there is no point to trying to be "nice" to the Communists thinking they play all fair. Might as well stick it to them exactly as allowed by the playbook and when possible change the playbook to suit us, just as they do.

That's the answer for when they say "but it's traditional and fair to not nominate xxxxx when xxxx time is), etc, because as they proved so many times before, they will skip any being nice or common understood agreements and get away with as much as they can under the rules and then change the rule book in the senate if they can to help their cause. When it looked like the Republican MA Governor, Mitt Romney, was going to be naming a replacement for John Kerry, assuming he won the 2004 Presidential election, the Democrat MA legislature changed the law so that the replacement had to be picked by a special election.

Well the law was changed and in the end Kerry lost.......but the law was changed.

Than when Teddy Kennedy was recalled to hell it was law that a special choose Kennedys successor.

but it was a Dem Governor now, Devil Patrick.

Sure enough the legislature moved to change the law back to Governor appointment.

Oddly they mustered up enough shame and indignation from the electorate that they kept special election and we ended up with RINO Scott Brown and shenanigans to pass OCare.

Commies have no shame anymore, that wouldnt happen again. They would just say F the citizen.
