We had a chance to ring out a few rifles on Sunday.....my son and a cousin shot their deer rifles for awhile and then started on the ARs. Between the Star exploding targets from Cabela's and the AR500 steel targets from Jcvibby, it didn't take long for them to shoot through all the ammo....

Loading up....

Happy campers!!

STAR targets.... (makin' bacon)

in action....(great option for kids!!)

RRA with the SS 1-6x (great optic!!)

Great time.....

They had a great time......and to top it off my son and I went dove hunting last evening (his FIRST time). He had the time of his life and can't wait to go again this evening!!

I love to see this kind of stuff...you just can't start 'em too early in my opinion.
My boys (now 10 & 12) started with Red Ryders when they were 4 & 6. I get comments all the time at the range about how they are more safety conscious than many adults.

I hear the same thing but about me since I'm 14 and I tend to know more than the average joe and handle better than many adults so the people trust me with guns at their store. I got started shooting bb guns/pellet guns when I was 3-4 and when I was 4 I got my first gun a 22lr.

I'm with you guys on the safety aspect. Our cousin needed a few reminders but overall it was a very good outing. Much better to learn like that than on the fly during hunting the hunting season (like I had too)....

Jake - I didn't have the dogs out for dove season so you can imagine the sniff inspection I got when I walked in the door covered in all that scent!! BTW - your steel targets have been getting a lot of mileage around our place and those stand brackets are working like a charm!
