Bunch of pictures of a MX-11620/UV Gen 3 tube, I assume.

I'm trying to figure out why there is no contract information, etc. on this assembly.

Also, if anyone can look up the serial number, I'd be curious as to it's history.

i believe if theres no contract number, cage code, and mfg id it is not a mil-spec tube. i may be wrong on that though.

    Thank you sir!

What I've been told is that it was manufacturer for the military, but that the contract either got cancled or ended "badly." I did have to sign an ITAR compliance form for it (is that what you call it?). Basically, indicating that it wouldn't be leaving the US, what it was for, etc.

However, I'm really curious about the complete lack of markings other than a serial number.

It sounds like what they had you sign was an end user statement. Essentially you stated that you were the final receipient of this item and you don't intend to transfer it outside of the US.

Items can be export restricted without necessarily being military (not to say that this item is or is not, L3 is a military contractor). Quartz rate sensors are an example of this. They are common to electronic devices both civilian and military and as such are restricted.

I am interested to hear what the research pans out here.

Yes, that's sounds more like it, a EULA in software parlance. ...but the wording was more specific to US Code.

    Now I'm really interested.

I'm wondering if its a "second." That is, unused tube that was scratch and dent, per se. There is a very slight chip on the very outter ring of the blue side of the assembly. This wouild almost certainly have failed QC. However, I'm told it works flawlessly and has less than an hour on it.
