must have missed tha "one" part...

good enough...thought you might haave some super sneaky beat to fuck rifle you just don't let people know about.

Re: let's see it lowlight

super sneaky rifle, no, I generally use them whenever and however the mood strikes me... the only really sneaky kick ass rifle I have that isn't talked about much is my KMW 6.5-08AI -- that would be considered it.

but most are out there in full view.

The Hodge Laser might be something that fits into your well used not very visible one too...

Re: let's see it lowlight

Id like to see this fabled Hodge Laser....

Always was a fan of your Gladius and Harbinger. they kicked of similar builds for me

Re: let's see it lowlight

You guys are obsessive... really.

Mainly my CO rifles are more a mix of other calibers, stuff I don't shoot too often.

What makes one better than another is really not here or there. I have 2 SHR rifles from the original build, one 308, the other 260, they are both fantastic, but top loaders, and I refused to change them.

I have a great AI AE, awesome paint job has me leaving it in the safe more than any other reason, because I know I'll trash it.

My Covert, doesn't get shot.

My 7WSM is a game changer, but only gets used when necessary, stuff like the Raton Sporting rifle... no reason to shoot it more often.

I have a 338, 6BR, etc... I just grab my usual suspects because.

Of the several rifles I have in TX, the Harbinger has been there the longest, used the most and by far a favorite. The Werewolf was another work rifle, I use a lot, besides those two I have 2 AR10s down there, excellent rifles each of them, but not "go to" really, although I do shoot them alot.

My rhyme or reason isnt based on anything negative, more like which are in front at the time, which are zeroed, which aren't are pretty... but that doesn't mean I don't use different ones at different times.

As far as the pictures are concerned like I said, forget this week, I have company at the house and everything is put up.

We can't help being obsessive, I mean, face it...to us mere mortals you are THE man.You have done it, and ARE doing it.So for a peak at the arsenal is like sneaking a peek at Thor's hammer.
And we grin and drool for hours...

Re: let's see it lowlight

Okay lowlight, for arguments sake lets go with a what if sceniro....Lets say the whole us went to hell in a handbasket. The only thing you could do is grab one weapon before hidding for the hills...........which weapon and why.....(pic)

Re: let's see it lowlight

Does the specific rifle realy matter? We all know the formula.

.308 or your caliber of choice
AIAW or trued rem 700 action or Badger, stiler, lawton, surgeon, etc
18-22 inch match grade barrel, not to heavy a contour
Fast twist for heavy bullets
Muzzle brake is good for spotting shots, a can is better
McMillan, Manners, AICS or similar stock
DBM-AICS magazine is good, AW is better
Good trigger, not less than 2lb
Good glass, FFP mil/mil: NF, USO, SB, Premier, Hensoldt
Assembled by a competent smith

Look back at what Carlos Hathcock used; as long as the rifle is good enough, the rest is on the shooter.

oh boy...thanks so much for that "formula". this was ment to be a "for fun" thread. sorry people are getting wraped around the axle over it. christ lowlight....just go into hiding already would ya....

Re: let's see it lowlight

Again, how many times do I have say it, I have company in town, satisfying the curious is not my priority.

If I have stumbled on a formula its this, for a working gun:

308 or 260
Action, I can really care less but it has to work, and work well under bad conditions. AW top of the food chain, period. Next a good trued Remington, loose, side bolt release, detachable AI mag, and good, reliable trigger. the custom ones are fine but need a lot of maintenance to stay right, but I am always open to trying it. Tight tolerance shit just tends to fuck up dirty...

Barrel, custom, 1/10 (I'll always ok a 1/11.25 Rock too) for a 308, shorter is better, no longer than 22" and one step down in contour than what anyone else thinks, braked or threaded for a can is best.

The stock, AW/AICS is always a winner, Manners T2A, MCM A5, A3, they are all really okay, but I want side mounted flush cups, and a Terry Cross cheek piece.

My only one gun option, AW for the obvious reasons and really no explanation is needed.

dgunn, please, go hide yourself, you're irreverent.

Wow, right out of the gate and your tongue goes straight for the asshole. Try a little foreplay next time, a man likes a little anticipation. Maybe send him a box of chocolates and some flowers. Without a little warning it is somewhat startling to have a stranger nibbling at the pucker-hole. It's creepy and makes it hard to relax and enjoy.
