I appreciate your try.
However it seems Conservatives don't really care much about if they are supporting the people that hate them.
You might as well try to get people to stop using FaceBook and see how that goes over.

Personally I use Android, because while Google is evil, they have less control over Android then Apple does over the iPhone, so I can load programs on my phone without needing Google's permission.

I'm still waiting to see if the actually real freedom phone that Librem was making ever gets fully released and I get mine.

And go to what?.....
Android? 🤣
This is the issue that society has gotten themselves into.
Your life is on your phone. Your happiness is on your phone.
Big corporation Apple says “you can’t have this app anymore cuz we don’t like it” and now you have to choose to lose the app or the entire phone. People not willing to give up phones. The addiction is terminal.

And go to what?.....
Android? 🤣

At least with Android, for all it's problems, you can choose to load programs (apps) from anywhere you like with a single change in the settings.
You can also find a phone that you can root and install a custom rom for.
You could even do what the Chinese were forced to do, run Android without any Google Services.

About the best you can do, until somebody actually gets a decent workable Linux phone made, is if you don't need to actually make cellular phone calls and don't need to actually do cellular text messages, you can get a very small Linux laptop or tablet running straight Linux that you can put a Cell phone modem and SIM in and then run that, but it's purse carry not pocket carry and a lot of your shooter apps are only on apple and android.
However I think there is a good chance the new one by Theis may eventually run on Linux.

Maybe Trump will get into social media and cellular provider services, under a false name and company. Do what they do and limit speech to only conservative view point. Then cable network??

This is a great idea!
(well, I think so, anyway)

What will the economic/social/political effect be when 70 million conservatives/Christians BAND TOGETHER and (insert desired e/s/p effect) MAKE THEIR OWN THING.

OK, so I have a Jesus 1st sort of mindset... Did you know that it has been prophesied that conservatives /Christians will actually BUY OUT media and begin programming?

Edit: Let me be clear here. Anybody looking at it (Youtube videos, etc) can see that "a lot" of what is now called "prophesying" is a load of crap.

DECEPTION is the name of the game. A spirit of deception is loose and running amok.

However, in order for there to be a false, there must be a genuine, no?

I could easily go back to a flip phone. Land line would be tough.
The only phone I've used, use and will use is a basic flip (so called "dumb") phone, so I can actually talk to people, if necessary.
I'm not so dumb to need a "smartphone". If I need to do some serious work, I use Windows PCs with 3 Ghz+ Intel CPUs.

BTW, it's a trend now to use flip phone instead of "smartphone". Most of the flip phones have Internet and some are built like tanks.
I got a real tank, 4G Kyocera duraXV Extreme, with some essentials, including hot spot and camera/video, and no BS apps of any kind.

Just search Youtube for numerous videos about people switching back to basic phones... Really interesting trend.

I keep a "smart" phone for two reasons, but I will always use android platform unless something comes along that is more "free"
-texting (otherwise how else do I talk to my kids :ROFLMAO: )
-ballistic aps

Never owned anything from Apple in my life and never will.

Well I do own some Beatles records from Apple Records but that's a different entity.

Apple is no good. If you happen to have Apple "smartphone", do not upgrade to another Apple phone. If you use any Apple related services, stop using these services. In general, boycott anything Apple related. Just a logical attitude.
I won't defend Apple's actions on the parler front; but, do you seriously think any GOOGLE/Alphabet phone and services is actually "better" than Apple? I will never have another Google device; very skeptical of MSFT, and now a lot more skeptical of Apple. But of those 3, Apple is the least of your concern.

Even Linux may be "infected" now that it's been released that Huawai has apparently (from what somebody else posted and other news) been putting things in as well.

There is no "truly" secure system unless you just first, load up the OS (be it any of them), completely disconnect from the internet, go in, destroy wireless transceivers (wi-fi and bluetooth) , and then use your computer again like it was 1985. Heck, maybe I'll dust off that old 386SX in my garage I save for posterity. Just needs a new clock battery.

I don’t know much about computers but I stumbled on this a little bit ago. This phone and a laptop seem intriguing

I've had that phone on order for 2 years so far (had to pay up front), maybe people get lucky and by the end of the year it ships.
The laptops are interesting if you want something that is a step above taking a standard laptop and loading it with Linux.

The main thing on the laptops is they disable to the best of their ability Intel's remote management and spy chip and also try to make sure all the drivers are also not spyware and the laptop is as clean as possible.

If you are looking to have "secure" computing and communications and expect "The Adults in the room" of the National Security apparatus to be interested in you in a big way, pretty much don't bother.

There is a reason why some of the folks we don't get along with still like typewriters and paper when it comes to sensitive stuff...

It is impossible to be sure that the NSA and/or other government branches as well as possibly other countries have not put back doors into every primary computer processor and or motherboard controller in use today. Most likely both Apple and Android all have built in backdoors for at least some of those same folks.

For an OS like Linux most likely the smart folks would not introduce a back door into the source code. Instead what has been theorized is that where the best place to hide a backdoor would be in the compilers because a couple flipped symbols or even possibly a single one is enough to give you a back door.

That's before we get into the already known security holes that the processors and programs, that keep getting found and most likely the big guys know about those long before they become public.

In Linux there is a bit of controversy among the greybeards regarding the basically black box "buggy" int system that RedHat/IBM pretty much strong armed into most distributions in order to increase their support profits. You can get a couple distros without it, but it's getting harder to avoid. That is also a pretty easy place where a "bug" could introduce a backdoor that could sit around for a long time.

If you have stuff you really don't want getting out, the first thing is to never connect the computer to the outside world. But even that is not goof proof, just ask the Iranians...

I am a computer geek (to the extreme). I always try to look 3 moves ahead.

Trump was banned from Twitter and Facebook (and other platforms). His next move was to use a different service for communicating.
He talked like he would go to Parler. Apple and Android "controllers" Google yanked the Parler application from their stores, because parler refused to ban not just the president, but dozens of other conservative voices, some who had condemned the D.C. Capitol hill event. The bans were never JUST about preventing "inciting and violent words". Then, several geeks pointed out you could get to Parler without using an "App", just by using the web browser on the phones, and going to the webpage for Parler. Then Amazon's "Amazon Web Service Cloud" drew a line in the sand. They made the same demand of Parler, or they would remove the Parler Website from their servers. This would reduce the private company Parler to having NO way to reach it, even from Desktop PC. Parler is talking about moving to different servers. They get shut off at midnight tonight.

What will be the next move? If they do find another hosting company, you know the big players will try to crush whoever hosts them.
If that does not work, what then?
"Someone" will "pollute" the DNS servers. What does a DNS server do? It translates easy to understand names like WWW.amazon.com to an IP address (such as 13.224.46.101). Your computer actually only understands IP addresses, the human-readable name is just for the Human's benefit. If your computer cannot get an IP address from the DNS server, it cannot connect to that website.

If this does not trigger the biggest Antitrust suit in American History, then there is no justice to be found anymore.

Hi,

There is nothing on the planet that transmits data that cannot be hijacked by .gov types...nothing no matter what OS, make, model, manufacture, etc etc etc.

If you transmit data, it can absolutely be hijacked.

Sincerely,
Theis
I don’t who you are, but you scare the shit out of me, and make me medium bendable at the same time! Keep up the good work, you spooky basterd!

Has zero to do with happiness its supporting your enemy with a spy device on you 24/7.
No, I was replying to Kickin45 specifically who said “Your life is on your phone. Your happiness is on your phone.”

Smart phones make life a fuck ton more convenient. Need directions? Well, you don’t need a map or a stand alone GPS unit. Forgot what was on the shopping list? Don’t need to make the drive of shame with an incomplete haul. Just give the wife a call. Think the gun store is trying to ass rape you on that spamcan of ammo? Price check it at the counter. Etc, etc.

I’ve got a ton of picture on my phone that I’d hate to lose. But, life would go on. And, I periodically print out the ones that I
to keep. It houses my contacts (both professional amd personal) and it would be a pain in the ass if they were wiped. But, life would go on.

More convenient =/= better. As often as not it means the opposite. Think how often you get a spam call or text. And, being handcuffed to your office via a mobile email app is a “mixed blessing.”

My point was not pro or anti China. Just that a mobile phone is a convenience device, not a life enhancer...

And, to add my small little bit here, but when ANYONE designs, produces, and sells ANY phone that is Linux based, then please, make the damned thing payable ONLY by GunPay, or PayFirst or WHATEVER other system you invent alongside. Just ANYTHING other than paypal.

No point in supplying the anti's when your supporting the 2nd's.....

I'm assuming you understand that you can copy all your pictures, and contacts over to a computer (that you own and control), at any time, for safe keeping?
Most likely you could also copy the rest of your data over off the phone as well.

Absolutely, and I do. But, nothing beats good old fashioned paper. Anyone remember Rolodex? If my house went up in flames tomorrow, I’d grab a binder of documents and a couple of picture albums. All staged within easy reach as I headed out the door. I’ll let the insurance company deal with the rest...
Most of my best days were had outside of cell phone coverage. But, it sure is convenient to capture them on a smart phone.

Thinking a little further ahead, you can see the next obvious paths. Parler will move to another server(s) and then the domain registrar will take action, then they'll move that, they will finally settle into a new home and their bank will stop allowing commerce to them. They'll eventually settle in and find homes where they are left alone, but it's going to be slightly painful in getting there.

How does one run grinder on a flip phone? Asking for a friend.
They leave the house and find some tail at the supermarket or laundromat like the good old days.

I was going to say bar as well but few of those are open now.

It would prove interesting if the Domain Registrar took action, as they are NOW an international body, which allows some rather nefarious stuff, like child porn sites to keep their domain names.

We need some deep pocket conservative venture capital firms to provide funding for conservative startups to compete with these giants.

And we need conservatives to stop supporting these assholes.

How is it that so many are prepared to pop shots and so few are willing to give up two day delivery and their phone apps? This decade is like living in the goddamn twilight zone.

Sent through google chrome.
